SMILE Scheme Application

This special self-employment loan scheme is a joint initiative of the Government of Kerala and the Kerala State Women’s Development Corporation (KSWDC), aimed at supporting families who lost their primary breadwinner due to COVID-19.The scheme is designed to assist women aged between 18 and 55 years, who are dependents of individuals who passed away due to COVID-19, by providing them with the financial support needed to start sustainable self-employment ventures.

Key Features

  • Loan Amount: Up to ₹5 lakhs for starting self-employment or small-scale businesses.
  • Subsidy: Beneficiaries who repay the loan promptly are eligible for a 20% subsidy on the loan amount, subject to a maximum of ₹1 lakh.
  • Collateral for Loans up to ₹1 Lakh: For loans up to ₹1 lakh, a stamped receipt will be accepted as security instead of traditional collateral.

This scheme is part of the state's ongoing efforts to provide meaningful rehabilitation and economic empowerment to women affected by the pandemic, ensuring long-term financial stability and dignity.

The KSWDC-NORKA-Subhayathra Scheme is a joint initiative implemented by theKerala State Women's Development Corporation (KSWDC) in collaboration with NORKA Roots.It aims to support Keralites seeking overseas employment by providing financial assistance for skill development and travel expenses with an interest subvention of full interest for six months and 4% for remaining 30 months. The scheme offers up to Rs.2lakhs under 2 categories.
