The Kerala State Women’s Development Corporation intends to setup a ‘Women Resource Centre’ at Residential Women’s Polytechnic College, Payyanur. Proposed Women Resource Centre is meant for facilitating women diploma holders from Polytechnic college in Kerala to acquire necessary employability skills in order to find suitable jobs.

Most of the technically qualified Diploma holders lack communication skill, confidence and overall personality.  KSWDC bridge this gap at WRC and make them employable. 

Project Description

1.    Features :
       •    Provide short term specialised training for fresh diploma holders.
       •    Lectures/ Interactive sessions from experienced faculty for Communicative English &
            Communication Skill, Etiquette and Manners, Career Guidance- Personality Development and
            Computer/ Internet Skills.
       •    Specially Designed Practice to get acquaint with Industrial work.
       •    Batch size : 30 - 40 (10 students from each branch)
       •    Main focus on soft skillcomponents  

        •   Residential programme with 2 months duration

2.    Target Group:
The target group will comprise of women diploma holders selected from various women’s polytechnics of the state below 30 years, who are on the lookout for suitable jobs as well as final year students of women’s polytechnics.

3.  Training will have the following main modules:

•    Personality Development:
     Includes confidence building, interview techniques, communication
     skills etc. (soft skill development)
•    Communicative English
     Comprehensive training in English communication enhancement using software and audio
     visuals aids.                                                                                                                                           Approach to interviews
•    Technical Skills Up- gradation:
     Skill up-gradation will be given in selected areas of specialization as per the industrial requirement.      In addition to the above, women resource centre provides 100% placement to trainees, in various industries after the finishing school programme.
